Diverse Threads - York Minster exhibition

Textile and Mixed Media Group Diverse Threads helds an exhibition in York Minster (5th-20th September).  The exhibition features many new works, inspired by the Minster and its surroundings.

Anne Barnard: Robbin Firth Workshop

This is my finished teeswater locks shawl with ruffles  made at the two day Robbin Firth workshop at Skeeby Mill.
The shawl is created using teeswater locks. Made using Robbin's 'Palm washboards'.
The process required very little rolling and was very quick to achieve a result. Laying out the locks not withstanding. That took forever.
The ruffles were totally unnecessary, but I was eager to learn how to make them. So two processes in one.
